Mile Marker 30

Ok, so I was hoping I wouldn’t have to write again until I was 32 weeks, but we have had a very eventful week. I have had 2 bouts of pre-term labor, each time the doctors were able to stop the contractions with the use of meds- mostly in the form of shots (ouch)! When I am examined they can not feel any cervix left, but with an ultrasound I am showing to have about 2cm. The best news is I have not dilated at all and the cerclage is holding tight. My blood pressure has lowered because of the oral medicine they have given me to take for the contractions.

Due to all the uncertainty with when I will deliver they decided to give me steroid shots for the baby’s lungs. That way if the baby comes early his or her lungs will be further developed. I had the same shots with the girls and I do believe they are helpful.

My life now consists of rotating around the house- from the couch to the chair to the bed to the sunroom. I am not allowed to be on my feet for more than 10 minutes an hour so it’s hard to keep my mind busy.

At my last appointment on Tuesday Dr. Connor did not want to examine me, he thought it was best not to disturb anything. I was happy with that. Other positives include no blood or protein in my urine and lower blood pressure. All is well at 30 weeks prego. Now- maybe I won’t write again until 32 weeks prego.

About Me

My photo
Me- well: I love God! I love people! I love my family! I love my husband! I love being a mom! I love having twins! I love my friends! I love children! I love teaching! I love my church! I love red wine! I love watching my children play! I love summer! I love the beach! I love bonfires! I love the lake! I love to laugh! I have the most wonderful husband- he takes care of me and helps me out when I over commit myself. I love being a mom- twins are great! I hate when people say, "I don't know how you do it!"- I just do what needs to be done. At the end of the day our house may not be clean and the clothes may not get folded and put away, but everyone is safe, fed, and loved. My friends- oh you mean the people I used to hang out with, but never see anymore! Yeah, I love them too. I have learned that God brings all kinds of people into our lives. Some of those people are great friends while you are in school, some are great friends while you are in college, and some are great friends at work or church. Then there are the few- the special friends that stick around for a lifetime. I am so blessed to have so many lifetimers!!!
