Compare Contrast

I have told many parents of my students and friends of mine not to compare their children because they will drive themselves crazy, but I must confess that I do it too. It is so easy to compare your children, but I think it’s even easier to compare twins! I mean aren’t they supposed to be the same?

Yes, Blythe and Bree are fraternal and as opposite as they look so are their personalities, learning styles, interest, and taste. Yet, I try to morph them into one person; often treating them as a unit instead of individuals. I want both of them to meat their developmental milestones at the same time. I want them to learn at the same rate. I want them to both to enjoy the same toys/sports. I want them both to be empathic. I want them both to be like Jesus. I want them both to love Jesus. (The last 2 I will not budge on- they have to be the same on these!)

Really, I know they aren’t always going to be the same, but I still compare them. I worry that Bree will struggle in school because she is just not as interested in academics as Blythe is. Bree is so much like her moma- ADD and Blythe is so much like her daddy- OCD! Like I said they are complete opposites. I also worry about Blythe, but that is a whole other blog entry.

HA! There is no reason for me to worry about Bree anymore! (Well, at least not right now.) She did it, while we were on their field trip to INK!

That is just awesome, Bree. How lucky am I that my days will be filled with these sweet faces in the Fall??? They are just adorable.

yay for Bree she will get it. Haleigh just took a field trip there this week and had a great time. The only thing she told me she learned was how to milk a cow. Lovely right!

About Me

My photo
Me- well: I love God! I love people! I love my family! I love my husband! I love being a mom! I love having twins! I love my friends! I love children! I love teaching! I love my church! I love red wine! I love watching my children play! I love summer! I love the beach! I love bonfires! I love the lake! I love to laugh! I have the most wonderful husband- he takes care of me and helps me out when I over commit myself. I love being a mom- twins are great! I hate when people say, "I don't know how you do it!"- I just do what needs to be done. At the end of the day our house may not be clean and the clothes may not get folded and put away, but everyone is safe, fed, and loved. My friends- oh you mean the people I used to hang out with, but never see anymore! Yeah, I love them too. I have learned that God brings all kinds of people into our lives. Some of those people are great friends while you are in school, some are great friends while you are in college, and some are great friends at work or church. Then there are the few- the special friends that stick around for a lifetime. I am so blessed to have so many lifetimers!!!
